Activities

Swimming

All of our campers participate in Red Cross swimming lessons with qualified instructors and lifeguards. Whether campers swim competitively or are jumping in for the first time, our Waterfront staff focus on safety, skills, and confidence in the water.

Campers (and counselors) love running, climbing, bouncing, and sliding on our aquatic inflatables: a jumbo slide, climbing wall, trampoline with “blob”, and Rockit (floating spherical see-saw).

Boating

Lake Kanasatka is the perfect place for a day on the water. We offer instruction in non-motorized watercrafts including canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and of course sailing, plus paddleboats, surfbikes, and more! Campers love tubing behind our pontoon boat as well!

Sports

Quinebarge offers a multitude of team and individual sports. From classics like tennis, basketball, kickball, volleyball, lacrosse, field and floor hockey, biking, and soccer, to international additions of cricket and rounders, plus new favorites like Quidditch, ultimate Frisbee, and Gaga there is something for everyone.

Fencing

Campers love trying out this Olympic Sport! A hard-to-find offering at summer camps, fencing is included in tuition at Quinebarge and gives campers the opportunity to learn something new and unique. Our qualified instructors focus on safety and fun while teaching the fundamentals of the sport and helping more advanced campers hone their skills.

Archery

Since our inception in 1936, archery has been a staple at Camp Quinebarge and is one of our most popular activities today! Campers learn safety and technique from certified instructors on our range, and grow in confidence with each bull’s eye.

Horseback Riding

The Quinebarge Riding Program is included in tuition and is open to all campers, regardless of experience. Campers that sign up for the week will ride every day, and receive 1-on-1 instruction from our qualified staff. Campers learn to ride in the ring and then advance to trail rides on our extensive trail network on camp.

Nature

With 70 acres of forest and 1,250 feet of lakefront, Camp Quinebarge is an ideal natural classroom. Campers who choose Nature learn about local plants and animals as well as environmental topics in a hands-on setting. They walk our wooded trails, learning about local flora and fauna, go fishing, learn about the importance of water on the lake, and have even been known to whip up treats in our solar cookers.

Adventure

Our onsite climbing tower plus high and low Ropes Courses and Zip Line allow campers to reach new heights every day. Campers learn life skills including communication, teamwork, trust, and cooperation through games and challenges designed for experiential learning.

Arts & Crafts, Ceramics, Drama WoodShop

IMG_6926

Our popular Arts and Crafts activities allow campers to get creative with projects including drawing, painting, ceramics, jewelry and bracelet making, eco-crafts, photography, and more! In wood shop, campers are empowered by creating projects from scratch: they design, cut, sand, build, and paint with close supervision and guidance from counselors, and always go home with something beautiful. Our Drama program teaches kids the basics of putting on a show, performing in front of a group, a bit of stand up and more.

Fun & Games

Outside of our program areas, campers can explore their own hobbies or try news ones with their friends and cabin mates. With our own library, Gaga Pit, board games, Four Square court, and outdoor activity center, there is always something to do.
